Capital Bank Small Business Relationship Manager, Sr
(Supporting Broward including Palm Beach and Boca Raton areas)
As one of First Tennessee/Capital Bank’s Small Business Relationship Manager (SBRM) you will be responsible for building and servicing a portfolio of commercial customers with annual sales less than $15,000,000, through close partnership with branch banking partners, company-provided lead lists, and your own community involvement and circle of influence. With clear goals and a strong support system, you will understand the needs of a small customer through our assessment tools and be able to provide knowledgeable solutions, including Treasury Management and other Deposit options, Business Loans and Lines, Merchant and Payroll Services and more. As business owners are also entrepreneurs, you will also be aware of these holistic needs and refer to internal partners such as Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management and Trust.
The SBRM will report to the Retail Banking Executive, with dotted-line reporting to the Small Business Production Manager. You will serve a group of branches where you will partner with the Regional Sales Managers to strategically source current customers who can benefit from Business Financial Reviews and who contact us for immediate needs. These branches will submit loans up to $150k. They will also submit loans and lines above this amount, or those which require special expertise, to the SBRM. In the course of partnering with the RSM and branch personnel, you will assist them from time to time in mentoring, training and some commercial authorizations and administrations.
The SBRM role is self-directed and involves daily decision-making skills. To be successful the RM must demonstrate high energy, strong relationship building skills, solid judgment on where to spend time, and the life management skills to put it all together.
Other competencies include:
• General knowledge of business credit underwriting, with the capacity to become proficient
• Strong knowledge of business deposit and treasury products and services, and a track record of past success in their production
• Demonstrated ability to develop COI relationships, or similar organic growth mechanisms
Requirements
Bachelors or equivalent in retail or business banking experience.
Required experience: 4 - 6 years; preferred 6 - 8 years
Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills.
Proficient with applicable computer software.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Good organizational and customer service skills.
Excellent consultative sales and cross-selling skills.
