Exciting opportunity at TCF! TCF is in search of a Finance Manager, located at our Plymouth Corporate Center. The Finance Manager manages all aspects of finance function within the designated area of responsibility at TCF. Includes direct responsibility for effectively managing the accounting/finance function to achieve efficient, economical performance while meeting corporate, financial accounting, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements.
• Manages all activities of the department. Includes setting priorities, monitoring performance, evaluating and developing procedures and motivating staff to achieve an efficient, economical work environment.
• Responsible for finance function’s adherence to all corporate, financial accounting, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements. As necessary, proactively reviews and analyzes any new or changing financial policies, guidelines or requirements for impact on designated division of TCF and develops internal policies and procedures accordingly.
• Oversees personnel functions within the department, including staffing, promotional changes, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary action and other issues that arise.
• Resolves difficult or complex problems or issues that arise, and oversees any special projects assigned to the department. Escalates significant issues to the appropriate level of senior management for resolution.
• Prepares and/or reviews financial statements, reports and analyses for the designated division of TCF to meet internal and external requirements.
• Assists in the preparation and review of the annual budget and goals for the designated division of TCF. Monitors performance against the annual budget through the preparation and review of variance analyses. Prepares and/or reviews forecasts and projections, as appropriate.
• Interacts effectively with senior management to ensure accounting/financial aspects of divisional activities are conducted in accordance with corporate, financial accounting, legal and regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements.
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
• Six to eight years related work experience or four to six years’ experience with advanced degree or professional certification (CFM, CMA, or CPA)
• Advanced end user computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving ability
• Demonstrated project leadership skills, including directing the work of others or previous supervisory experience
• Strong leadership and managerial experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical research and reports and apply information to specific business situations
• Advanced organization skills
• Ability to work under deadlines
Preferred:
• Professional certification (CFM, CMA, or CPA) or advanced degree.
