The Role
The Annuities Product Investment Consultant will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects for the Product Investment & Expansion business line or functional area. This includes identifying & delivering on constant improvements in: Business Development and Expansion into new or underdeveloped markets; Investment Solutions available within the business line products; and Product Innovation. S/he will also serve as a resource for appropriate internal/external stakeholders to develop new product business opportunities.
Responsibilities
• Delivers viable & workable solutions for more complex innovation initiatives, such as expanding the pipeline of future products to help diversify business line product portfolio & reducing reliance on long-dated guarantee products.
• Communicates with management to ensure that the value proposition and product differentiating features for new innovations and market opportunities are consistent with Lincoln's branding, corporate image and strategic direction.
• Acts as a resource for business leaders to identify & filter more complex investment solutions to meet requirements of product design & risk management & to analyze the impact of investment solutions on pricing assumptions or reinsurance arrangements.
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders to deliver on more complex investment solution and risk managed strategies, projects, and assignments, including the selection/review process for changes, additions, or deletions of funds.
• Consults across assigned area(s) on managed risk investment solutions communications to ensure and enhance the consistency, understanding and transparency of messaging and materials.
• Acts as a resource and maintains relationships with representatives of external Investment Managers, external consultants, and strategic partner firms as needed to ensure understanding of business line needs.
• Consults with Marketing to accurately position all investment solutions in an open and easy to understand manner that is consistent with goals of the enterprise.
• Provides more complex analysis of the investment solution set and the impact to LFG's risk management programs, product pricing, business mix, profitability and assets under management.
• Works with internal/external Investment Management partners to ensure business goals and risk management parameters are reflected in investment solution set.
Education
• Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience required
Experience
• 3-5+ of experience years in Financial Services ideally in Product Development, Insurance, Investments, Annuities, or Broker-Dealers
• Knowledge of Investments, Variable Annuities, or Funds desired
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
