Opportunity Overview
The Edward Jones Agency within Marketing is seeking to hire a Senior User Experience Designer in the Design/Produce department.
The Senior User Experience Designer will be responsible for leading the strategic design, architecture and development of multiple, highly complex digital experiences for clients, investors and associates that support the firm's digital strategy and brand initiatives. These efforts require a strong degree of collaboration with business partners across the firm including Marketing, Client Strategies Group, Information Systems and other areas, as well as with external partners. As part of the creative team supporting client experience efforts, this associate will influence the perception of tens of millions of visitors to Edward Jones' digital properties and will play a key role in the perception of our brand.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Serve as senior subject matter expert in the disciplines of user research, design thinking methodology, interaction design, planning and digital strategy.
• Translate end user research and apply learnings to design of highly personalized and targeted digital user experiences.
• Lead design and technical teams to inform screen designs based on end-user workflow and information needs as well as set direction and ensure that site development is in alignment with desired user experience.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine appropriate architecture and desired outcomes, including project team, digital agencies and business areas.
• Deeply understand firm's brand positioning and ensure brand is represented across all client and associate experiences. Establish a close working relationship with strategy, messaging and channel teams to ensure that look and feel of digital properties align to the firm's brand standards.
• Manage multiple highly complex digital projects simultaneously.
• Identify emerging trends and innovations in the discipline of user experience design and mentoring others to ensure the firm's user experience design capabilities align with industry and client expectations.
• May lead others on functional or virtual teams and/or freelancers.
Position Requirements
• B.S. in Digital Arts, Marketing, eCommerce, Design, Human Factors, Computer Science or related field required.
• Minimum of 7 years experience directly related to user experience or digital products.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as either a front end developer, interactive designer or digital experience project leader
• Expert ability to apply Human Centered design principles and design thinking methodologies as well as ability to lead others in applying these methodologies.
• Strong working knowledge of responsive web and mobile-application design and development.
• Expert ability to gather requirements and lead site design to meet business needs.
• Highly proficient at gathering and interpreting user information.
• Expert project management skills.
• Expert ability to gather requirements and design sites to meet business needs.
• Passion to remain current with the research and best practices in the fields of creative design, usability, human factors and interface design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of multimedia technologies.
