JOB SUMMARY
Works with company owner, presidents, CEO's, controller, human resources professionals, and executive directors on a daily basis tailoring retirement plans. The primary responsibility of the Retirement Plan Consultant will include developing new retirement plan clients and meeting assigned sales goals with a high level of prescribed proactive ongoing sales activity within their regional territory. The secondary responsibility will be to drive client retention by identifying client's needs and creating a proactive service plan to key decision makers and plan participants in order to achieve business growth and customer retention. Builds and maintains relationships with a large network of contacts in order to facilitate new business production. Spends a significant portion of their time seeking out new business. Acts as the quarterback on the service team to meet client expectations and retain clients.
COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associated’s anonymous Ethics Hotline.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Sources prospects through a variety of means which may include but not limited to cold calling, warm calling, referrals, and partners across PCIS and Associated Bank. Holds introductory interviews with businesses and organizations using Associated Bank’s value added services and strategic selling methodology. Pursues prospects in the sales funnel and best few with a strategy for selling each account. Expected to sell a minimum of $50,000 in two of first four years of employment. Spends at least 50% of time outside of the office on sales and service activities. Time spent on these activities will be more significant while growing book of business.
Services existing book of business including being an advocate for clients with insurance carriers, third party administrators, service staff and professional resources. Holds a minimum of 3 face-to-face meetings with clients. Work through their annual renewal by providing alternatives, shopping the market when necessary, etc.
On a continuing basis, participates in sales training seminars and product knowledge workshops. Stays current and updates individual knowledge of insurance, finance, retirement planning and human resources by reading industry periodicals.
Maintains a solid understanding of all PCIS and retirement plan products and continually updates that knowledge.
Keeps current with all follow-up activities on prospects and clients. Uses applicable system to track follow up requirements and using available tools to maintain contact with customers and prospects.
Identify needs and refer customers to business partners within and across lines of business who can best meet those needs. Meets sent synergy expectations.
Completes weekly reports in a timely manner.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
EXPERIENCE
Less than 2 years Insurance or Retirement Plan Industry Required
2-4 years Insurance Industry or Retirement Plan Sales Preferred
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
Series 6-Investment Company Product/Variable Life Contracts Representative Exam within 3 months Required
Series 63-Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam within 3 months Required
Other Series 65 and/or other licenses required to sell on assigned product platforms within 3 months Required
Series 7-Stockbroker Exam within 3 months Preferred
Life, Accident and Health, Property and Casualty Insurance License within 3 months Preferred
Other Valid Driver's License by start date Required
