Research & Development Analyst

Our Personal Lines Research & Development group is seeking a R&D Analyst to dig into data to help answer business questions. Responsibilities include:
• Researching enhancements and new rating variables for our commercial insurance offerings
• Conducting formal statistical analyses, for example, multidimensional weighted regression, using SAS or R or SAS, and interpreting diagnostic information
• Developing and supporting existing insurance rating models
• Conducting ad hoc analysis
Must have qualifications
• Master's or Doctoral degree in the area of quantitative research/ Statistics
• Pursuing a Master's or Doctoral degree in the area of quantitative research/ Statistics with a graduation date of December 2018 or May 2019
What we also look for
• Ability to conducting formal statistical analyses, for example, multidimensional weighted regression, using R or SAS, and interpreting diagnostic information
• Good sense of business judgment is also important in situations where data may be thin.
• Strong skills in problem-solving, verbal and written communication and statistical analysis.
• Advanced skills in Excel with knowledge of spreadsheet functionality including V-look-up, pivot tables, charts, graphing and macros
• Strong critical thinking and problem resolution skills
• Proven project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
