JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Bank Manager, Market Manager or District Manager, the Banker III is responsible for the development of new households and small businesses for the purpose of selling Associated Bank products and services. Responsible for expanding and deepening existing customer relationships through referrals to other Retail business lines to include Commercial Banking, Mortgage, Associated Investment Services and Retail Payments. The Banker III will also provide referrals to other Associated Bank business lines as opportunities exist. This person will strive to deliver a satisfying customer experience by fulfilling service requests and providing efficient and accurate transaction processing. The role will support the operational integrity of the branch. Must have the ability to use and demonstrate all customer channels, including digital technology. Achieve individual and branch team goals. This position requires a credit check per 12 CFR Chapter X, Part 1026, Truth in Lending, Regulation Z.
COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
Responsible for selling Associated Bank products to existing customers and prospects. Responsible for expanding and deepening customer relationships by identifying and matching customer needs throughout Trust, Business Banking, Private Banking and Retail Departments.

Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and S.A.F.E. Act requirements. Must submit required information to meet registry requirements, obtain a unique identifier, and maintain the registration requirements as directed by the S.A.F.E Act.
Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associated’s anonymous Ethics Hotline.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prospect new relationships through proactive calling efforts, while retaining and deepening existing relationships. Initiate Bank at Work and Business Banking opportunities through the development of new prospects, centers of influence and excellent service of existing client relationships. Actively call on businesses and centers of influence.
Ensures positive public perception by extending a warm welcome to existing or potential customers, identifying their needs, presenting solutions through product benefits, overcoming resistance, completing the sale, and nurturing relationships, personally committing to consistently exceed customer expectations, every time, everywhere.
Identify needs and refer customers to business partners within and across lines of business who can best meet those needs. Sell bank products to new and existing customers, using the established company sales process while maintaining sales and procedural proficiency in all services offered at the bank. Participates in joint calls to further develop relationships.
Opens deposit and loan accounts, verifies and processes changes to existing accounts, answers customer questions and resolves related account problems. Prepares documents and paperwork, assists customers with signing necessary documents, receives initial deposits and/or transfers funds from existing accounts or prepares sight draft to obtain funds. Requires understanding of sales, products, benefits, account ownership, forms, and procedures. Ensure that new accounts are properly processed and cross-sell opportunities are identified and pursued.
Maintain sufficient proficiency in Teller operations to perform all teller related transactions including inquiries and new account posting while exceeding customer expectations.
Provides financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends through bank approved sources, while providing an enhanced client experience.
Assists the Bank Manager in developing and implementing plans for achieving branch sales, fee income and service goals. Provides guidance to other Banker colleagues to help develop proactive sales activities and act as a subject matter expert to help mentor and guide bankers to provide excellent customer service and identify sales opportunities.
Participates in community and business functions/group to ensure a positive image for the bank within their market place.
Bankers will be required to spend 50% of their time actively pursuing opportunities outside the branch.

EDUCATION

High School or equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
5-7 years business to business sales and/or financial industry experience, including deposit and consumer lending. Lending authority for consumer retail. Has knowledge of small business loans and deposits.
PREFERRED
5-7 years experience within a financial organization to gain the necessary experience and background to deal effectively with customer relations matters.
