Job Introduction:
Liberty Mutual Global Risk Solutions (GRS) Technology is actively searching for aCloud Support Project Manager. GRS Technology provides support and operations for all global specialty lines including North American Specialty, National Insurance, Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), and Liberty Mutual Surety (LMS) across 19 countries, through one unified Technology team.
In this role, the candidate will work with technologists, engineers, developers, and architects to help deliver customer-centric digital software products from idea to production. This is a fast-paced environment providing rapid delivery for our business partners. Liberty Mutual is looking for someone who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment that values speed and quality, with a strong desire to drive change as we continue on our agile transformational journey. The candidate will oversee the planning and implementation of one or more complex IT projects. Projects pertain to the delivery of timely, quality IT services and/or relate to improving business effectiveness or efficiency. Provides input into creation of project budget. Manages project scope, schedule and budget for the project. Leads a team which is brought together for the interim of the project and works with matrixed or administrative managers to ensure resources are managed appropriately. Functions independently with limited supervision or guidance from IT Management. Stakeholders are primarily IT or Business Managers.
About the role:
• Oversees the planning and implementation of multiple IT projects with a defined beginning and end.
• Partners with project sponsor to define project objectives, scope, schedule, and budget. Establishes project charter and plan, including success criteria.
• Oversees the evaluation of business and system requirements and project related research on business and technical trends and dependencies.
• Leads and directs geographically dispersed project teams to meet project objectives.
• Reviews, evaluates, baselines and executes project plans, schedules and budgets.
• Allocates staff and budget resources to meet changing corporate needs.
• Identifies and negotiates schedules, milestones and resources required to meet project objectives and success criteria.
• Organizes and guides project operations through the use of methodologies accepted by the industry.
• Modifies schedules as required.
• Provides input into staff performance evaluations and objectives.
• Provides coaching, mentoring and guidance to project team members and/or others in Project Management roles.
• Works with client departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training and support.
• Keeps informed of advances in technology and Project Management.
• Functions independently with limited supervision from a Manager or Director.
• Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
• Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
Desired skills:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Minimum 8+ years’ experience as a project team member of which at least 2 years have been in a leadership position, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Knowledge and experience in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and/or Docker).
• Able to manage projects from inception to successful implementation.
• Requires strong analytical, communication, technical teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Able to foster working relationships with the team and client departments.
• Thorough knowledge of business functions and extensive understanding of business operations, strategies and objectives.
• Thorough knowledge of project management life cycle, methodologies and support tools (e.g., MS Project, ABT, Clarity, etc.).
• Thorough knowledge of project management concepts, practices and techniques (Project Management certification preferred).
• Ability to promote a team environment.
• Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills.
