Position Overview

We are looking for an analytical Rockstar to join our small but highly talented Freddie Mac Multifamily Underwriting team. As a Multifamily Underwriting Associate, you will be responsible for execution of our Small Balance Loan (SBL) program this includes evaluating the overall story, make decisions on the credit risk profile, all while creating meaning work that will benefit the housing community. We’re looking for someone whip-smart, a fast learner, very comfortable with numbers and can hustle. If so, then join our SBL team in New York and apply today!
Your work falls into three primary categories:
Engagement
• Analyzing, mitigating and defining credit risk
• Evaluate all aspects of the proposed loans, assist in preparing and obtaining deal approvals, and issuing Commitments
• Creative, good at problem solving and a strong communicator
• Self-motivated with an ability to prioritize, take initiative, and operate proactively
• Must be highly organized with a strong ability to multi-task
Structure and Development
• Proven ability to learn fast in diverse business environments
• Competent at project management and juggling multiple, fast paced deliverables
• Ability to thrive under pressure
• Understand and convey market implications on subject asset
• Develop resolutions to problems of limited scope following specific and detailed procedures
• Keep updated on policies and regulations that may affect the industry and be comfortable with transition and change

Qualifications
• Typically has BA/BS degree and 1-3 years of equivalent work experience in the real estate industry
• Knowledge of real estate property fundamentals and real estate lending/underwriting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to travel domestically
• Ability to work independently
