Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for developing agent sales and business capabilities in order to drive agent productivity, retention, agency growth and business success for MetLife’s Retail Property and Casualty division.
The Agent Development Coach (ADC) will partner in developing and delivering training programs to career agents in a defined region, while collaborating with peers countrywide to ensure there is a consistent, best-in-class approach to helping agents gain knowledge, skills, and competencies required for success.
The role will also assist in identifying and prioritizing development needs through partnership with Regional Field Leadership, to include strategy, defining training scope, outcome objectives and requirements, and partnering with internal and external resources to implement effective sales development programs. Specifically, in partnership with the Regional Sales Managers, the ADC will help advance skills to ensure all agents can effectively prospect, overcome objections, and close sales using consultative selling techniques. Equally important to this role is their participation in building New Agent Business Plans and 5 year strategy. This involves participation in and/or facilitation of the National New Agent Summit for newly hired career agents. The ADC will become familiar with all products, sales processes, and systems used by the business, and may be required to conduct technical coaching as needed.
While significant focus will be on newly hired career agents, the ADC will conduct ongoing coaching for all skill levels and types of agents – both newly hired and tenured – using the most modern, blended adult learning methodologies and Enterprise resources. While regionally based, the ADC should be considered a resource for the entire career agent channel, including their own regional leadership.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Identifies development needs through collaboration and teamwork among all stakeholders.
•Acts as an active change agent within the region.
•Assists with the design and development of coaching curricula, tools, and processes to meet the needs and build sales capability for career agents and leaders in various phases of their career.
•Facilitate, coach and drive other performance support solutions based on business/stakeholder requirements
•Identifies, evaluates and leverages various program development and delivery methods to determine the right approach to achieve the learning objectives for career agents.
•Monitors and regularly assesses the quality and effectiveness of training/program delivery, and provides coaching and feedback to appropriate business partners to ensure consistent effective performance.
•Partners and aligns with the appropriate representatives from each business unit/ stakeholder (i.e., Global Learning & Development, HR, subject matter experts, etc.) and field leadership to clarify/confirm work instructions/scope for delivery of training programs.
•Has a clear understanding of how sales managers onboard new agents; identifies, obtains, and packages coaching opportunities to determine appropriateness for cross-region usage and distribution.
•Remains current on industry and market dynamics and determines impact and opportunity to infuse into training programs.
•Manages group dynamics and behaviors to ensure a learning environment that is inclusive and successfully applies adult learning characteristics across diverse backgrounds and experiences.
•Consults and collaborates with other peer ADC's, channel Directors, and Director of Agency Development to build and deliver the coaching and development strategy for the organization.

•Able to travel up to 35% of time
Basic Required Qualifications:
•5+ years’ professional sales experience, including significant success in training or experience in training on insurance products or other sales.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree
•Proficient in classroom and virtual training delivery
•Knowledge of adult learning methodology
•Excellent communication skills, rapport-building, and facilitation skills
•Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
•High problem solving skills and able to influence with impact to get work done
•Knowledge of property and casualty insurance products, processes, and systems preferred, as well as agent experience
•Technical expertise and proficiency in online learning resources a plus
•Life and Disability product knowledge
•P & C License or willing to obtain
