The Manager of U.S. GAAP Conversion Financial Reporting will ensure that all aspects of the bridge from IFRS financial statements to U.S. GAAP financial statements in related locations, are prepared in an auditable manner and in accordance with applicable U.S. GAAP standards. Scope includes a range of financial accounting, reporting, and technical research for the company as well as setting the U.S. GAAP conversion accounting policies, coordinating audits of U.S. GAAP conversions with external auditors, evaluating system capabilities for dual GAAP reporting, and developing standardized processes across multi-geographic locations. The candidate will collaborate with colleagues in finance across several country locations and other business leaders across the organization in the development of technical positions, accounting policies, financial controls and requires exceptional communications skills to effectively convey complex accounting topics. The candidate will also monitor the impact of new or pending accounting or regulatory pronouncements and consider appropriate implementation procedures.
Responsibilities
• Coordination with external auditors for audits of U.S. GAAP conversion from IFRS for multiple locations (United Kingdom, France, Germany and Brazil).
• Assist foreign finance teams in the development and execution of standardized procedures for conversion of IFRS financial statements to U.S. GAAP financial statements.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to accounting and financial reporting functions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and U.S. GAAS.
• Lead and direct the development of conversion accounting policies and procedure implementation throughout the multiple foreign finance organizations, ensuring the policies are aligned with applicable guidelines and regulations.
• Monitor and access the impact of emerging accounting developments and their potential impact on the Company.
• Assist in the implementation and enhancements of system changes required for dual GAAP accounting preparations.
• Control and check all financial activities on compliance, liaise with local teams on reporting issues, assist in solving potential fiscal issues within respective area.
• Collaborate with local teams on the optimization and implementation of finance & control policies, DLL In Control Framework and tools and advise management on financial control matters, compliant with corporate policies, regulations and US accounting standards.
• Lead and own various ad hoc projects as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA required
• 6+ years of public accounting experience
• Big 4 audit experience a plus
• Applicable industry experience a plus
• Strong ability to write and document detailed accounting position
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and ability to analyze technical accounting matters
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong project management skills, experience in managing projects and capable of managing multiple deliverables within agreed timeframes
• Self-starter, with the ability to motivate team members and drive issues/projects to closures
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
