Kearney is currently seeking an Audit Manager to join our DC metro area team. This Audit Manager will provide expertise to an audit infrastructure to interact with external financial statement auditors, improve our federal client's business processes, monitor financial reporting controls, validate the corrective actions, and communicate and coordinate change management with our client's Senior Leadership.
Responsibilities
• Performing risk assessments in accordance with OMB Circular A-123 and the FIAR Guidance
• Identifying the conditions and issues preventing Army from maintaining generating financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Performing studies to determine a comprehensive and technical status of current financial improvement and audit readiness capabilities
• Proposing new or revised accounting policies and procedures as well as implementation strategies to address audit findings
• Designing corrective action plans to address the root causes of audit findings
• Developing and assisting in the implementation of a strategy to overcome Army Working Capital Fund material weaknesses
• Recommending new business processes or controls needed to achieve financial statement assertions
• Monitoring financial reporting controls and validating the corrective actions of the organization
• Communicating and coordinating change management with Army’s Senior Leadership
• Providing program management support to manage the efforts under this contract
• Providing professional development support to Client's Headquarters.
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Logistics or Business Management
• Minimum 4 years of experience with Department of Defense financial management, including 2 years of experience with audit readiness
• Knowledgeable of GAAP, FASAB, GAGAS, OMB Circular A-123, GAO Green Book, DoD Financial Management Regulations, and DoD and Army organizational structures
• Experienced in performing audit readiness services within the Department of Defense
• Familiar with current trends to enhance ERP systems, (GFEBS, GCSS-A, LMP)
• Familiar with pertinent Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies and federal financial management systems requirements
• Familiar with DoD policies, systems and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property and material management, and possess the capability to effectively interact with the external financial statement auditors and provide audit liaison support to the Client's organizations, Commands, Service Providers, and other external stakeholders
• Active U.S. secret level security clearance REQUIRED
