RSM US is looking for an International Manager to join its International Services Office (ISO), a dynamic team of globally agile professionals who advise and help RSM US teams deliver global engagements and win complex pursuits.
Handling over 1,000 projects that touch nearly 100 countries every year, the ISO maintains deep knowledge of RSM’s capabilities worldwide and of current global issues faced by our clients.
The ISO project manages the firm’s global transformation and has direct responsibility over services to foreign direct investors (FDIs). It drives harmonized service delivery and growth across North America and inter-regionally with key trading partners across the world. The team strives to leverage on the latest technology to maximize collaboration across our vast organization, and to capture and share unique, relevant knowledge in real time.
The successful candidate will demonstrate high learning agility, a solid international business experience, and the ability to leverage on tacit knowledge to be an effective advisor.
What you bring: The ideal candidate will be a growth-oriented, fast, ongoing learner who has the ability to be a change agent in the firm. Desired skillsets include 1) process improvement, 2) professional services experience, 3) ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholder groups, and 4) ability to leverage technology to improve knowledge management and organizational learning.
What you’ll learn: He/she will acquire expertise in global project management, how foreign financial reporting & tax compliance impacts US operations, scoping/anticipating needs of foreign owned companies, how to architect effective multi-national engagement teams, and best practices to win new engagements. The International Manager will advise on a broad array of cross-border issues and will be in a position to learn and exercise leadership on an enterprise-wide basis.
The International Manager builds effective working relationships with partners and leaders in the U.S. and overseas, and participates in growth and market facing activities such as presentations to prospects, clients and internal audiences.
Responsibilities:
• Consult to engagement teams on best practices for cross-border projects and proposals
• Build and maintain deep knowledge of our global resources in the U.S. and abroad, as well as expertise in navigating and engaging those resources for the benefit of our client experience
• Proactively contribute to strategic, firm-wide global programs
• Participate in client-facing sales and work product delivery for companies entering the US, or US multi-nationals expanding internationally. This may or may not include travel
• Develop and communicate recommendations for process improvement with a focus on enhancing knowledge capture and effective sharing across the organization
• Supervise, develop, train and coach assigned staff, and assess the performance.
Qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Work experience of 6+ years, including some experience in a professional services environment (e.g. Accounting, Consulting, Audit or Tax)
• Master’s degree preferred
• Project management skills including leading others
• Demonstrated ability to adapt easily to change and work effectively with ambiguity
• Exceptional client service with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Comfort using technology solutions to improve processes
• Strong leadership, development, training and mentoring skills
• Highly proficient in English with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas
• Comfort with delivering executive-level presentations
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Ability to speak, read, and write in at least one foreign language
• Cross cultural awareness and strong ability to work effectively with international clients and foreign colleagues
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong internal working relationships across, and an understanding of, multiple functional areas, both domestically and globally
