What you'll do
Billtrust is seeking a Senior Manager, DevOps that is passionate about cloud computing, infrastructure-as-code, and guiding the DevOps team in crafting deployment strategies for Billtrust’s highly-available SaaS applications. You will lead our DevOps team to ensure our SCRUM teams have the tools needed to write, test and deploy code with ease and ensure dev and QA satisfaction. Your team of experienced DevOps engineers will build and maintain continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) environments, processes and tools, evolve configuration management (CM) efforts, and foster the use of public cloud environments.
• Guide, coach and advocate for a team of DevOps engineers
• Manage team member performance
• Work hand-in-hand with Systems and eOps teams to promote DevOps principles such as infrastructure-as-code, CI and CD and to help those teams adapt to the changes necessary to support these new systems
• Work with IT to modernize on-prem hosting infrastructure to align with DevOps strategies and technologies in use in public cloud environments
• Collaborate with IT, Dev, Quality Engineering, Product and other cross-functional teams to spread DevOps best practices throughout the organization
What you'll bring to the team
• Ability to provide direction and mentoring to an experienced group of DevOps engineers utilizing Agile techniques
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical teams, including team members with more experience and knowledge than yourself
• Demonstrated success delivering SaaS products in a software engineering or DevOps capacity – 5+ years of relevant experience ideal
• Familiarity with a variety of related tech and tooling, such as AWS, Azure, Docker, Terraform, Git, Jenkins, NuGet, Octopus Deploy, Windows and/or Linux
• Past experience building and streamlining deployments in AWS or Azure
• Understanding of Agile (SCRUM/Kanban) techniques
• Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally, and work well in a team-oriented environment
• Experience in a SaaS, software, or product-centric company strongly preferred
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or similar (or equivalent experience)
