Job Description
The Ally Insurance Actuarial Pricing team manages our pricing models in the development of exposure estimates, financial projections and rate indications for our suite of vehicle protection products, including: Vehicle Service Contracts (VSC), Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) and Pre-Paid Maintenance in the US and Canada.
This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to apply actuarial principles to ratemaking, as well as to collaborate on projects with Reserving, Product Development, Finance, Enterprise Risk Management, and other departments.
The analyst will be expected to participate in the Actuarial Study Program, which provides support for participants to progress through the CAS actuarial exams.
Job Responsibilities
• Pricing model development and implementation support
• Pricing review, financial forecast and rate indication support
• Ongoing development of pricing and risk framework
• Reporting of pricing and risk metrics to leadership
• Peer review of loss reserving and pricing analyses
• System rate and earning file development
• State rate filing support
• Actuarial data warehouse support
• Respond to and provide support for internal and external customers
• Increase Actuarial knowledge through studying for Actuarial exams
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics or related field
• Completion of at least 1 CAS/SOA exam required; 2-4 desired
• Strong skills in MS Excel, Access and Powerpoint
• SQL, SAS, or other statistical/computer programming experience is a plus
• Ability to effectively communicate highly technical topics, both verbally and written
• High level of problem solving capability
• Well-organized and detail-oriented work ethic
• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis
