Job Description
Works closely with HR leadership in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resource, organizational and employee development at the business unit or division level. Serves as the subject matter expert. Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach. Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, bonus planning, employee engagement, learning & development, workforce planning, and organizational change). Assists senior management in the development of solutions through organizational development and cultural and process-oriented perspectives. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
• Must have strong Employee Relations background to provide expert advice and coaching to employees and leaders within the organization
• Understand employee/leader opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns
• Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve the HR policies and initiatives
• Identify and drive the communication and sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement
• Act as a liaison between the line and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs
• Create and facilitate training as appropriate
• Reviews, consults, and makes recommendations to management regarding various HR related matters such as: performance management, leaves of absence, promotions, terminations, organizational design, job documentation, and salary administration
• Maintain a knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends
• Ensure that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization
• Manage specific projects as determined in the annual HR operational plan and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives
• Reports and analyzes trends in turnover and recruiting
Key Competencies:
• Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy
• Ability to develop clear, actionable steps in support of an overall HR strategy
• Ability to develop and deliver relevant, effective training programs to targeted audiences
• Ability to engage, inspire, and influence people
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and client consulting skills
• Significant knowledge of HR policies and processes (e.g., workforce planning and talent management)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Word, etc)
Requirements:
• Minimum of 8 years of HR generalist and previous experience in a high volume client environment is highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree (preferred); Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job
• Demonstrated experience in communication and building relationships with business leaders to be viewed as a trusted resource for advice and guidance
• Expertise with commonly used concepts, practices and procedures with HR body of knowledge, including state and federal employment law
• Demonstrated strong ownership and leadership to drive initiatives within all areas of responsibility
