Position Highlights
The Assistant Manager Mutual Fund Trading supervises the daily activities relating to mutual fund trading and fund elimination / plan deconversions for the Investments Division.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manages research and resolution of all GWRS trading issues Ensures issues are thoroughly researched to yield resolution in a timely manner. Oversees the timely and accurate completion of all true-ups, accounting entries, and adjustments. Manages the research and resolution of escalated and/or highly complex issues.
• Oversees the timely and accurate reconciliation of fund eliminations, plan terminations, and plan deconversions. Ensures trailing dividends, transfers-in-kind, and other adjustments are completed promptly and without error. Ensures all large trade coordination activities are completed in advance of the event.
• Ensures team performance meets and exceeds function/department goals, quality targets, and service level expectations. Monitors individual reconciler statistics to ensure they are within established guidelines. Prepares reports measuring/detailing performance, including monthly management reports for both outstanding aged items and gain/loss reconciliation.
• Has supervisory management responsibilities for direct reports. Makes hiring and salary recommendations, develops training procedures and provides training, conducts performance evaluations and manages staff issues according to company and divisional policies. Performs/assists in budget management.
• Manages/supports special projects, including but not limited to, software upgrade regression testing, new business conversions, software enhancement implementations, and audit and regulatory requests.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Four years of experience in mutual fund operations with supervisory experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Access.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to work within prescribed deadlines.
• Must possess strong management, project prioritization, analytical/problem-solving, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
• FINRA Series 6, 26 and 99 license required within GWRS established timelines.
