Manager Consumer Strategy and Social
As the Manager Consumer Strategy and Social, you will be responsible for developing consumer digital and social marketing strategies. You will manage our social media practice including overall platform strategy, community management, defining channel objectives, proactive and reactive content strategy, and reporting on objectives and success measures. You will manage a team of social media specialists who are tasked with community monitoring, engaging with comments and content, as well as identifying opportunities to further extend our brand strategy within the social space. You will also assist with digital strategy for our acquisition marketing efforts. This will include providing strategic direction for the development of a variety of digital assets including, but not limited to, digital video, display, paid social, organic social, AR/VR, and other emerging technology and platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Management
• Develops the strategic vision, roadmap and training for the Social Community Management practice at Progressive
• Setting team goals, developing organization capability, work cross-functionality to build programs that drive business objectives
• Promote diverse and inclusive ways of thinking, behaving and performing through personal action and leadership
• Attract, retain, and develop talent to ensure key goals and objectives are met through effective people leadership
• Manage high performance team
• Coach and mentor teams to enhance marketing knowledge and business acumen
• Challenges and inspires team members to achieve business results
• Conducts and ensure completion of performance reviews
Planning and Execution
• Initiates the development of market and/or consumer insights and translates them into marketing strategies; proactively socializes through marketing business partners and actively contributes to the development of the overall marketing strategy
• Creates input briefs that drive strategic creative development; collaborates with assigned agency or business partner on creative brief development
• Provides creative feedback in support of creative brief strategy
• Provides guidance to business units to develop consumer and customer marketing strategies and product and service positioning to meet business needs
• Actively contributes to development of market research stimuli; includes qualitative discussion guides, new product concept write-ups, new messaging approaches, etc. and influences development and design of strategic frameworks and socializes with marketing and business partners
• Partners with internal stakeholders to develop testing methodologies and results interpretation to identify and improve upon marketing strategies
• Leads the development of integrated marketing plans and associated messaging approaches, collaborating with business and marketing partners
• Proactively mines for timely and relevant intelligence, including competitive strategies, industry developments, cultural trends and marketing best practices.
• Actively manages strategic communication development process from kick off through discovery into planning to ensure that all work done by team meets deadlines
Must have qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and 8 years related work experience in a marketing role
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 12 years related work experience in a marketing role

• Proven ability to proactively mine for timely and relevant intelligence, including competitive strategies, industry developments, cultural trends and marketing best practices
• Demonstrates subject matter expertise in strategic development specific to CRM, Direct, Digital, Social, Content, Brand Positioning or Acquisition marketing programs
• Proven ability to translate market research findings, consumer insights, and campaign results into actionable marketing strategies
• Demonstrates credibility by building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; able to present ideas/perspectives in visual and convincing way and influence without authority
• Understands brand, acquisition and/or retention marketing and has experience developing successful campaign strategies that have been deployed in market. Specific digital marketing experience a plus
• Baseline understanding of market research methodologies and segmentation approaches
• Ability to be adaptable and manage ambiguity
