Summary
The Commercial Banking Relationship Manager will be responsible for the sales, service and retention of profitable and moderately complex deposit and credit based commercial customers. Incumbents are responsible for new business development, portfolio management, credit quality and overall relationship management of an assigned portfolio of commercial customers. This position requires some supervision from Market leader or Market Managers in the management and development of customer accounts.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Source prospects and COI's
• Cross-sell the bank's commercial products and services to existing customers
• Individual budget responsibility in alignment with Incentive Plan Goals
• Work in collaboration with credit professionals to produce written support of new or renewing credit exposure
• Work with compliance, credit review and auditors to ensure credit extension is within policy and applicable laws and regulation
• Represent Santander in civic and community functions to further enhance Santander's brand and develop expanded business
• Monitor credit quality within assigned portfolios and take action as appropriate
• Participate in joint calls with business partners to develop customer relationships and support specific product sales across business lines
• Identify, evaluate, structure and recommend commercial credit transactions to ensure maximum profitability with reasonable risk
• Primary contact for new business development which focuses on the acquisition of moderately complex and profitable commercial customers

Qualifications
• 5-7 years of commercial banking experience
• Background in sales/client interfacing
• Knowledge of commercial credit
• Ability to manage low to mid-range Middle Market clients
• Ability to work independently and leverage professional relationships within and outside the bank
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial analysis, risk evaluation, loan documentation and commercial loan structures
• Full utilization of sales automation tools and related technologies
• Knowledge of commercial banking products and services (both credit & non-credit)
