Summary
This position is responsible for the timely risk mitigation, valuation and profitability management around the Equipment Finance (“EF”) group's portfolio of financed and leased assets. In addition to managing the risk and valuation side of the portfolio this position will also insure that we maintain adequate profitability around equipment sales from the Santander EF book. Furthermore, this position will be responsible for active participation in all equipment finance related loan committee meetings and activities. Additional responsibilities will include annual review of the equipment portfolio to ensure adherence to ASC 840 standards and evaluations and other projects as determined by management and deemed necessary.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform annual reviews of the entire equipment portfolio to estimate market valuations on equipment owned transactions for the purposes of marking assets to market and complying with ASC 840 requirements
• Assist other areas of the bank such as middle market and asset based lending in helping them determine asset valuations and providing appraisal review and opinion for the banks overall commercial business
• Assist in the development, maintenance and publishing of equipment management related guidelines, procedures and manuals
• Manage and ensure profitability against the portfolio of leased and owned assets to ensure continued profitability for the group and the bank as a whole
• Use independent judgment to perform equipment related analysis, evaluations, appraisals and asset sales techniques
• Assist the underwriting team with preparing new business transactions for presentation to various loan risk approval committees

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Accredited ASA Appraiser
• 15+ years of relevant work experience
• Proven ability to work with other business segments, risk and functional managers
• Solid knowledge of financial products used by the business and the required residual and collateral risks/rewards inherent in each product
• Knowledge of MS Office, Crystal reports, Infolease servicing system
• Understanding of requirements for documentation of equipment transactions
• Proven organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with changing deadlines and timeframes
• Knowledge of various equipment valuation search engines and a vast connection of equipment dealer relationships to confirm equipment valuations
• High degree of confidence and technical skills to present equipment valuations, positions and theories to senior committees, regulators and management
• Customer service skills with internal bank users of equipment valuation services
• Strong decision making skills and an ability to make high quality technical decisions that may affect profitability
• Adherence to proven equipment valuation methods in a timeframe that requires short turnaround times
