About The Role:
In this role, this individual will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for major programs within the Customer Office and significant projects that impact other Prudential business lines. Reporting to the VP of Internal Operations, this individual will be accountable for the results of large scale, strategic initiatives that extend across the U.S. businesses and corporate centers. This individual will manage a team of Customer Office project management resources and establish workflows, processes and controls necessary to ensure all deliverables and business objectives are met. This individual will lead prioritization and demand management processes, serving as a conduit between project managers and executives who make the strategic decisions for those projects.
This individual will be expected to provide strong leadership in a matrix environment and establish best practices for a maturing PMO organization focused on leading the company in agile development methodologies.
Specific Responsibilities:
•Accountable for delivering Customer Office programs and projects, which include large/complex/cross-functional strategic and/or technical initiatives within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements.
•Lead a team of program and project managers on a wide range of initiatives of varying complexity. Ensure clarity of business objectives, connectivity across efforts and escalation and resolution of project risks.
•Follow best practices for the full lifecycle of initiatives to ensure alignment with corporate strategies and goals. Examples include project planning, initiation, resourcing, execution, monitoring, control and completion.
•Adhere to governance frameworks to support effective communication of project updates, changes and dependencies. Provide timely, accurate and relevant project, program and portfolio reporting.
•Operate with an agile mindset requiring flexible project management methodologies.
•Establish strong business partnerships within and outside of the Customer Office to resolve issues quickly and advance efforts expeditiously.
Qualifications:
•10-15+ years of experience at a senior level in a PMO function leading teams.
•Proven track record of managing complex, highly technical projects across functions and business lines.
•Experience with both agile and waterfall methodologies.
•Well-developed leadership, management and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and motivate others in a highly collaborative environment.
•Ability to juggle different projects/priorities and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure.
•Ability to balance structure and flexibility, with a fearlessness to challenge the status quo.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively align and influence the organization around common goals and objectives.
•Strong executive presence and experience dealing with senior business leaders, including presenting to executive leadership.
•Deep line-of-business knowledge in insurance or financial services industries a plus.
