The business analyst (BSA) is primarily responsible for capturing and translating business requirements in to system requirements and creating design/specification documents. The BSA will also be responsible for creating process and procedure models based on requirements. The BSA will also work very closely with the front office, accounting and the operations teams and act as a liaison between these teams and IT.
Job Description
The successful candidate should have the following skills and abilities:
• Capital markets experience – understanding of data needs from a trading and back office perspective for the various asset types when integrating with external managers
• Must have strong understanding of the data attributes for fixed income, equity securities, derivatives, and the typical data attributes and data models provided by either Eagle Pace or Golden Source, as well as where their data models has challenges
• Ability to work with Data Architect to create data models – entity relationship diagrams
• Ability to Interface and interact collaboratively with business users, project managers, development teams, testers and technical leads
• Ability to work with external /internal parties to clearly define the how/what/when aspects of data requirements and document them
• Have significant experience working with the operations team and understand the business processes related to trading, settlement, derivative trading,
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to effective manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines and adapt and cope with change and pressure
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and speed to resolve issues
• Ability to facilitate meetings and communicate and collaborate with technology teams and the business
• Ability to identify and implement process changes
• Organized and applies quality standards to all tasks undertaken and ensuring that nothing is overlooked
• Establishes relationships and maintains contacts with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
• Works effectively across functional boundaries, identifying and involving other areas that can contribute to delivering objectives
• Thinks creatively and looks for opportunities to innovate and improve
• Evaluates key issues in terms on their impact on the business
• Makes decisions quickly and confidently based on experience and sound analysis
Job Qualifications
Education
College degree required with focus in MIS, Finance / Business, or Accounting
Experience
• 7-10 years of capital markets industry experience
• In depth understanding of Private Equity and Real Estate process
• Significant experience using SQL and Oracle
Preferred
• Knowledge of vendor products like Aladdin Trade order management system, Eagle Pace data hub or eFront is a plus
• Experience with Informatica is highly desired
• MBA, CFA (or other designations) a plus
