This role is an integral player on the Institutional Markets (IM) Finance team. The Institutional Markets Finance team is responsible for all financial activities within the Institutional Markets segment of AIG’s Life & Retirement (L&R) business. The position reports to the Finance Manager within Institutional Markets and is a key performer on a small core Finance team. In this position you will develop a familiarity of Institutional Markets products, competitors, clients and management team to support business processes, as well as work closely with other members of the IM Finance team to prepare reports used for analyzing and monitoring each line of business. Responsibilities will also include various ad-hoc analysis to support IM management team decision-making and planning.
Position Responsibilities
Management reporting
• Maintain BPC-based reports for monthly / quarterly close process, working closely with the IM Controller, IM Finance Actuaries and the broader L&R FP&A community
• Prepare management reports for the monthly/quarterly close including ROE, Source of Earnings, investment, GOE, etc.
• Coordinate with appropriate line of business teams to ensure finance deliverables are included for internal reviews
• Assist in the preparation of materials for monthly/quarterly business reviews with L&R management
Process Improvement
• Improve current BPC reports and, where necessary, develop new reports to streamline the monthly/quarterly close process
• Support the development of the IM web-based finance reporting tool (using Tableau) in conjunction with L&R Finance team
• Assist the IM Finance team, IM Financial Actuary and the FP&A community on various aspect of Business Planning
Communications
• Assist the IM CFO and IM finance team in developing material to communicate strategic objectives and initiatives
• Support various ad hoc presentations for use by IM management, as needed
Position Requirements
• Flexibility to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical skills
• High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• An undergraduate degree is required. Finance, Accounting or other quantitative disciplines preferred
• 4 - 6 years of related experience
• Experience with BPC, SAP, and/or Tableau preferred.
