Job Description:
This individual will manage an off-shore project based team to provide modeling and analytical supports for Card Portfolio Risk Management, including model design, model development, model maintenance, model updates, and performance evaluations. He or she will evaluate and interact with internal and external data as well as modeling vendors to seek opportunities to improve DFS advanced analytics qualities. This individual will also support senior management requests for enhancement in analytics for risk management. He or she will act as a control point for planning, implementing and interpreting results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages the relationship with business partners. Allocates resources and prioritizes projects. Ensures the modeling projects are delivered in a timely manner
• Responsible for model design, development, and model implementation. Ensures that the models are maintained and updated in a timely manner and the models perform as expected
• Develop and execute complex and in-depth analysis leveraging advanced statistical and technical capabilities such as machine learning techniques and methods to control credit losses
• Leverage technology-based tools to implement process improvements
• Evaluates external data and model vendors. Identifies, evaluates and recommends alternatives to business solutions in order to keep DFS on the technology frontier
• Reviews and recommends alternative analytical and modeling tools to improve model quality and performance
• Maintains a high level of competency in statistical and analytical principles, tools and techniques
Skills:
• M.S. in statistics, econometrics, computer science, industrial engineering, applied mathematics, or other quantitative fields. Advanced degree preferred
• 4 or more years of analytics and modeling experience in credit card or consumer lending industries
• Strong computer skills, experience with statistical software and other analytical tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Extensive project management and leadership skills
• Proven problem solving and decision making skills
• Project management experience in a high-profile, deadline driven environment
