Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsibility includes experience and functional use of applications in order to support the commercial and consumer loan areas for each affiliate bank. Incumbents will have primary responsibility for specific application(s) as described below and will confer with the more experienced loan documentation specialists and/or supervisor when questions arise. REGIONAL vs. CENTRAL: Variances in responsibilities may exist between incumbents located regionally versus those located centrally.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Loan Document Preparation:
◦ Enters loan data into document processing software on all types of commercial and consumer loan products.
◦ Prepares and distributes to affiliate bank customers accurate loan documentation on approved loans.
◦ Must organize and prioritize incoming loan requests so that response times are met consistently.
◦ Communicates with affiliate bankers and lending staff to ensure proper selection of loan products and completion of loan documents.
• Loan Document Review:
◦ Reviews all types of commercial and consumer loans to determine documents needed to secure the banks' position in collateral pledged
◦ Reviews of perfected documents to verify accuracy and compliance with regulations and bank policy
◦ Enters collateral data into collateral management system
◦ Creates exceptions for missing or incorrect documents and sets up expiration ticklers in order to accurately provide loan officers with reporting information
◦ May perform lien perfection filing.
• Pre-Close Flood Review:
◦ Orders Special Flood Hazard Determinations for qualifying Commercial Real Estate Loan requests.
◦ Reviews Special Flood Hazard Determination for accuracy and completeness
◦ Responsible for notifying Borrower by U.S. mail if property is located in a Special Flood Hazard Area.
◦ Responsible for tracking Borrower notifications and maintaining accurate records
◦ Completes the All in One Flood Calculation form to determine the appropriate amount of Flood Insurance required
◦ Reviews Flood Insurance policies to determine compliance with policy and procedure
◦ Communicates with bankers and lending staff to ensure compliance with all Regulatory and Synovus Policy requirements for Flood
• Remains up-to-date on all documentation regulatory and lien perfection requirements in order to ensure loan quality.
• Ability to handle issues/problems that are moderately complex; refers only most complex issues to senior staff.
• Cross trains in order to perform other duties within the department.
• May assist with training or other team members within the department.
• Provides support to affiliate personnel, other support functions or roles.
• May assist with projects as assigned.
• Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
• Performs other related duties as required.
