The position(s) are for a market research team that is being assembled. The research is for new/emerging banking industry products and services. The Hiring Manager needs a team that can track down these new initiatives, vet them for feasibility relative to their Charter/regulations/cost/etc. and put presentations together with said information.
Essentials Functions
• Work with key customers and partners to identify new growth opportunities.
• Perform critical financial, technology and regulatory analyses and build business cases to gain executive management support.
• Track developments in the financial services industry, focusing on Commercial Banking, through research of new product innovations and emerging technologies.
• Actively monitor regulatory, legislative and policy developments.
• Gather business needs through data analysis, user experience, competitive research and any other relevant tools.
• Develop implementation strategies alongside business sponsors, project managers and software engineers.
Complexity & Impact
• Use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and established policies and procedures
• Troubleshoot a wide variety of complex problems and identifies solutions within broad application of functional expertise
• Errors will have significant business and financial impact
Supervision Given/Level of Instruction given
• No formal responsibility for the supervision of others but may provide functional advice or training to less experienced team members
• Work independently under broad supervision
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
• Experience with technology concepts in Fintech and Regtech such as mobile banking, real-time payments, P2P, identity management and transaction monitoring.
• Good understanding of regulatory and public policy matters in the financial services industry, especially in banking matters (safety and soundness, consumer protection and payment systems).
• Excellent written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across the organization.
Typical Education
• A Bachelor’s degree in a business, technology or related field.
Typical Range of Experience
• 5 + years related work experience in the technology or finance industries.
