As a Fund Financial Associate in our Fund Financial Services (FFS) group, you will become part of Vanguard’s global business and provide financial service and support to Vanguard’s products and services, investment managers and shareholders. You will serve an important role by safeguarding Vanguard’s fund and corporate assets and providing quality and value-added service with unmatchable excellence to shareholders. FFS is comprised of 30 teams that are primarily located in Malvern, PA and Scottsdale, AZ. FFS teams work together to support and deliver the accurate and timely calculation of Vanguard’s security prices and fund valuations. Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs daily tasks for assigned team that could include ensuring accurate and timely accounting for income, expenses, money movement, specialized trading operations, corporate actions or reconciliations. You may be responsible for sourcing, validating and distributing all securities held in Vanguard funds, processing derivatives, preparing and analyzing reporting or monitoring the cash flows of funds. Operational responsibilities will be dependent on your assigned team.
• Independently identifies issues, analyzes and implements proper solutions and exercises judgement in elevating material issues. Recognizes opportunities and recommends process improvements to gain efficiencies and ensure quality.
• Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation of all current procedures. Understands and mitigates unit’s business risks by adhering to various control standards to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Works to maintain a comprehensive conceptual understanding of unit’s processes and their impact to internal and external clients.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with both internal and external clients and business partners. Proactively fosters effective communication. Anticipates client’s needs and ensures client’s satisfaction related to the services being provided.
• Serves as a resource to the department. Provides assistance and training support for new Crew and participates in cross training as needed.
• Participates in special divisional and department related projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Bachelor's degree (Accounting/Finance) preferred.
• Minimum one year of related work experience. Two years general business experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in personal computer applications including Word and Excel.
• Good time management, planning and organization skills.
• Ability to adjust to change.
