Position Description
The Advisor Network has an opening for an Investment Specialist to work within a team of investment professionals with three distinct responsibilities; technical investment support for Advisors and SEI sales/relationship managers, provide end-client case analysis and proposal support for SEI products, and investment messaging and support for end clients on the phone, via webinars and in person.
This position will require a commitment to build a deep level of investment knowledge to support our Advisors and SEI Relationship Management teams. This person will be responsible for continuing to improve the end-client proposal process for Advisors and is responsible for defining and delivering the optimal Advisor experience. These responsibilities will include investment positioning and specific case presentations and proposals. The responsibilities would also include competitive investment analysis in support of specific Advisor competition and for an Advisor’s end-client case opportunities. The person would be available to present SEI’s investment philosophy and process at regional meetings.
The position will require strong investment and communication skills to create and present the Advisor Network investment positioning at various meetings and events. This individual will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of the multiple processes necessary to communicate, support and assist Advisors and the SEI sales/relationship teams. Most commonly, this position will serve as the investment front for the Advisor Network, representing SEI on conference calls, webinars, and end-client meetings with advisors.
Responsibilities
• Work with the IST team to manage the Advisor Network investment story positioning and presentation for use by sales/relationship managers with advisors and for advisors to use with their end-clients.
• Manage and provide case-specific investment analysis to enable our sales/relationship teams to compete effectively for new business and to retain business.
• Manage and provide competitive analysis for individual end-client opportunities and direct competitors of SEI’s for Advisor business.
• Manage and support the sales and relationship management process with advisors and SEI sales/relationship managers at all levels of the sales/relationship process in an effort to obtain or retain business.
• Design and discuss with advisors the solutions best suited to meet client needs
• Keep abreast of advisor industry research/findings, financial service industry activities/actions, and relevant business philosophies/concepts.
• Keep abreast of competition in terms of offerings, strengths, and weaknesses.
Position Requirements
• Progress in earning advanced certifications, such as CFA are required.
• Excellent communication skills
• BA/BS degree in business, finance or a related field
• Experience working with investment software such as FactSet, Morningstar, Bloomberg and Zephyr Style Advisor
• Knowledge of investment management industry
• Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify and resolve/escalate problems
• Ability to work independently and with others in an effective and professional manner
• Must be willing to work in an open environment
• Minimum of 3 years of related business experience
Location and Travel: This position is based out of our Oaks, PA headquarters and will report to the Market Unit Leader, but will require to travel up to 25% of the time.
