The Resource Manager is part of the Global Services Operations Work Force Management (WFM) team. The team is responsible for ensuring that every project Finastra delivers to a client is correctly resourced. This is in terms of the number of people, skills, location and best cost fit to ensure the project is delivered on time and with the highest profit margin possible.
The Resource Manager is a key member of the WFM team in a critical role. The Resource Management team delivers best fit resources to Global Services projects and has a significant impact on the revenue and operating efficiencies of the organization. Resource managers are responsible for management, maintenance and on-going audit of data, systems and processes which underpin and support Global Resource Management and, in turn, our Global PS Business.
The role will ensure data hygiene around the accurate Timesheet entry of consultants and contractors, and will co-ordinate and manage the on-boarding and exit processes for all resources. The role will be responsible for the execution of rigorous financial contractor management, ensuring all procurement and associated payments are completed in the correct timeframe to maximise effective client billing and project profitability. The role will also assist with Global Mobility work ensuring resources have the means to travel when required and paperwork is place in good time. The role will ensure that all consultants skills, CVs are up to date (including our external workforce of Contractors and Partners) and that all bookings for resources are in place correctly on the system as this impacts our forecasting ability.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
• Monitor confirmed demand/resource requests and work with PMs and TLs to review resourcing plans to deliver against project deliverables while leveraging the best available staffing from internal regional resources, GD, CoEs, subcontractors and partners
• Conduct project reviews and provide recommendations to PMs and Delivery teams if resources can be better aligned in terms of seniority, location, partial billing etc to increase utilization, improve margins, kick start new projects and replace subcos with internal resources if bench increases
• Conducts regular reviews with PMs, TLs and Regional delivery heads to plan resource assignments, review bookings, resolve conflicts and identify opportunities for resources
• Gathering performance information about subcontractors and communicating the feedback to them or to their payroll partners
• To ensure that open resource requirements are filled with the most suitable candidates and for maximizing the utilization and billability of GS resources
• To enter and maintain data on both SFDC and Open Air to enable reporting for Management Information and further data analysis. To ensure time is recorded by resources correctly and on time
• To continuously endeavour to drive down project delivery costs by seeking to deploy low cost resources thereby improving the financial performance aligned to business goals
• Manages and maintains resource related data and ensures its alignment and accuracy across our resource management, HR and financial systems.
• Regularly reviews, and share with Project Managers, resource and timesheet data to identify and correct staffing mismatches, time incorrectly logged, increases in time on non-billable activities, or other opportunities where additional or different staffing options can ensure GS delivers against project milestones while achieving financial targets.
• Advertises and promotes the availability of consultants globally to encourage sharing of resources across regions and increase utilization.
• Maintaining up-to-date profiles of skills, knowledge, and competencies for a centralized pool of resources
• Partners with Operations to ensure resource revenue forecasting is accurate (up to date bookings with correct rate assignments)
• Apply regular audits to proactively spot forecasted bench time for consultants and share with Resource Managers and GS Business Leaders to drive the identification of new opportunities.
• Management and maintenance of accurate job descriptions to support recruitment
• Management and on-going improvement of the tools and processes supporting recruitment, on-boarding and processing of leavers in the GS business.
• Contributing to the optimization of billable utilization of all GS staff in the region, minimizing non-billable activities and ‘gaps’ in billable workload through regular audits of bookings and benched resources.
• Development of dashboard and reports to gather and share performance information and providing feedback to management team who are conducting performance planning activities
Required Experience:
• A minimum of 4-6 years’ Resource Management experience in a mid-sized IT Services organization with a headcount of at least 2000-3000 consultants
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze results, identify patterns, and develop solutions
• Strong Communication skills with the ability to engage with the business to understand issues and communicate solutions.
• Able to work across teams to successfully lead initiatives focused on system and process improvement.
• Background in adoption of new systems and processes beneficial.
• Knowledge of the business process and roles used in executing projects
• Understanding of the execution and delivery of Global Services projects and the associated roles and phases involved.
• Educated to a minimum Bachelor’s Degree level
