Description
The role of the Product Marketing Manager is tactical and outwardly focused. It is complementary to the Product Manager (strategic vs. tactical). The Product Manager and the Product Marketing Manager need to collaborate for both to succeed.
The Product Marketing Manager for Lender Solutions within Experian Automotive is responsible for providing sales with the information it requires to advance product sales, and be the champion for new product innovations within the automotive industry. In short, the Product Marketing Manager gets the developed product ready to sell, trains the sales team on ways to sell it, and provides field level sales support.
The key tasks of the Product Marketing Manager are:
Product Packaging – Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market
Product Launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
Sales Enablement – communicate the value proposition of our products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process
Market intelligence – understand the needs of our clients (lenders, Fintech’s, and Dealers), how they buy and their buying criteria; differentiate our products from our competitors
Essential Functions
- Product Packaging
- Definition and delivery of sales tools (e.g. demos, presentations)
- Definition and delivery of marketing collateral (e.g. brochures, data sheets)
-Definition and delivery of sales training
- Definition and delivery of channel partner training
-Developing and executing product launch strategies
- Supporting the sales process (e.g. provide product sales expertise, input for RFPs)
-Be the top product evangelist
- Provides real-time market feedback to the Product Manager to drive product enhancements and new product ideas
Formal Training/Education:
• Bachelor degree required
• MBA strongly preferred
Experience:
• Requires a minimum of 10+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, and/or sales in a marketing information, services or technology company of which at least 5 years were in a leadership role
• Extensive credit / lending experience within automotive industry
• Proven solid track record in utilizing analytical tools, metrics and models for both new product introductions and assisting new innovations
• Strong understanding of automotive lending market, fraud and identity solutions, go to market strategies, and product marketing
• Demonstrated experience in working with product data compliance (DPPA, FCRA, GLBA)
