Job Description:
This role leads and manages risk governance for Human Resources (HR). Responsibilities include developing a strategic risk plan/program that assess current and emerging risks associated with legal, regulatory and other risk related exposures. Oversight includes conducting a comprehensive risk assessment, providing risk guidance on new initiatives, enhancing the control environment by strengthening risks, controls, policy/standards/procedures, process mapping, control testing, managing HR’s issues and actions, root cause and remediation. Additionally, this position will provide Compliance SME program guidance, and prepare/ manage Human Resources for Regulatory Exams, Compliance Testing Reviews, and Internal Audits. This position regularly communicates and partners with Sr. Leadership within Human Resources and across the Company, including Law, Compliance, Corporate Risk Management, and Business Units.
Responsibilities:
– Develops and executes strategic risk plan/program that assesses current and emerging risks associated with legal, regulatory and other risk related exposures
– Oversees the completion of risk related initiatives/projects including a comprehensive risk assessment.
– Oversees development, implementation and administration control standardization
– Develops and monitors the risk and control environment for weaknesses and identify solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiency of controls
– Oversees the completion of Business Unit Testing and Monitoring
– Escalates and reports risks/issues timely
– Leads and develops dedicated risk experts
– Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and practices
Skills Required:
– Bachelor’s Degree
– 5+ years of related Business Risk experience: can be within compliance, internal audit, etc (HR preferred)
– Experience conducting risk assessments from a legal/regulatory perspective
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Results driven individual
– Financial services industry experience preferred
