Position Title Sr HFI Portfolio Analyst
Location Headquarters-Troy, MI
Job Summary The Senior HFI Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for managing the reporting, process developments, risk management, customer communications, outreach campaigns, loss mitigation workouts, and delinquency tracking within the HFI 1st lien, Home Equity, 2nd lien, and charge off portfolios. The Analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data, presenting data to senior management and managing projects. This role may also evaluate, identify and implement process improvements that incorporate best practices and adhere to regulatory guidance.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work at the direction of Management on special projects requiring immediate attention from the business unit. Demonstrate a high level of creativity and critical thinking to address problems decisively and develop effective solutions.
• Prepares technical reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing the data available.
• Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions
• Collaborating with other internal teams to assist in the continued development and optimizing of process improvement, reporting, tracking, and oversight of the entire HFI portfolio.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and delivery of reporting on forecasting delinquency trends for the HFI portfolio. Analyzes portfolio performance and trends taking role in strategy formation for improvement opportunities to improve HFI portfolios.
• Maintain subject matter expert level to be able to evaluate and keep updated processes and procedures for risk and compliance issues to meet regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Job Requirements:
• HS Diploma Required
• Bachelors degree Preferred or 3 years of comparable work experience
• 3+ years mortgage banking related experience
2+ years of experience with servicing systems, including MSP
• Functional experience in Mortgage Servicing operations (end to end)
• Experience managing and coordinating projects
• Experience with reporting, data analysis/trending
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners, customers and management in both verbal and written formats
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
• Thinks critically about how the organization operates and makes suggestions for improvement
