Citizens Commercial Banking Summer Internship Program Overview
Citizens Commercial Banking is growing the future leaders of our organization. We host summer interns each year, who are interested in a career in commercial banking. The Commercial Summer Internship Program is designed to give interns a look at Citizens Bank’s culture through project-based assignments, learning curriculum, networking, volunteer opportunities and formal mentorship. It is a 10-week exposure into one of many commercial banking business lines throughout the footprint. We encourage students from all majors, who have an interest in exploring a career in commercial banking to apply. We are currently accepting application for the Summer of 2019. Our internships will run from May 28 - August 2, 2019. At the conclusion of the program, high performers will have an opportunity to interview for the Commercial Banker Development Program (CBDP). Business Line Description:
Commercial Operations is compromised of Commercial Loan Operations, Business Banking Operations, Payment Operations, Commercial Client Services, TS Implementations, & Commercial Client On-boarding. We deliver excellence through passionate customer service and a strong focus on stakeholder partnerships, voice of the customer, capacity creation and change/risk management
Location: Rhode Island
Job Description: The summer intern will be responsible for assisting the Commercial Loan Operations team with various projects and daily activities including on boarding and servicing support, booking validation, metrics preparation, analysis, and quality control review. Contribute ideas, innovations, and insights based on operational and customer needs that will enable improvement of overall business unit performance. Candidates should possess strong customer service attitudes and values. Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the business so that these contribute to the effective Commercial Operations.
Responsibilities/
• Participates as a team member on projects within Commercial Loan Operations.
• Coordinates the implementation of project initiatives.
• Data entry
• Participates in team discussion for trouble shooting
• Assists with project planning
• Provide internal/external customer service
• Multi-task in high volume environment
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Enrollment and demonstrated academic achievement in an undergraduate degree program with a graduation date of December 2019 or May 2020
• Minimum preferred GPA of 3.5
• All majors considered
• Demonstrated leadership in a club, volunteer or sports
• Initiative taker who can handle multiple priorities
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Detail-oriented
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Team player who can work closely with others to complete projects under tight deadlines
• Software skills: Solid MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
