POSITION SUMMARY:
Summer Interns in Marketing at TIAA work on an exciting mix of assignments and projects that help drive the achievement of the organization’s strategy, mission and brand promise. Managers and other colleagues work side-by-side with summer interns to ensure development and learning. Interns in Marketing at TIAA can expect to gain an understanding of TIAA and the Financial Services industry, as well as have opportunities to explore various disciplines within the Marketing function.
As an intern on the Brand and Advertising team, one will help a team of marketing professionals whose primary responsibilities are to understand customer needs, translate those needs into a relevant brand strategy, and effectively communicate against that strategy to build brand awareness/equity and drive desired customer actions and outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The selected TIAA Brand and Advertising Intern will support and/or own any number of projects underway, aimed at optimizing the relationship TIAA has with its consumers and other customer groups. He/she will have the opportunity to apply classroom learning to the workplace, while also being challenged by various opportunities to learn and develop new skills. Interns will take on developmental roles in areas of Brand Marketing, including, but not necessary limited to, creative development, paid, earned and social media, digital analytics and customer insights. Specific assignments will be made based on business priorities and an alignment of project needs with the candidate’s skills.
At the conclusion of the internship, one will be expected to develop and present to one’s manager(s) a recommendation/summary of the primary project upon which he/she worked over the course of the summer.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills:
*Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a major/concentration in Advertising, Marketing Management, Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Content Marketing, or another marketing-specific area of focus. Graduation date must be between December 2019 to May 2020
*Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or better
*Must have experience with MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

*Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
*Solid presentation and communication skills
*Strong ability to work in teams and build good relationships high degree of personal integrity and work ethics

*Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail
