OVERVIEW
Jones Lang LaSalle is looking to add an Associate Project Manager (APM) to our growing Project Development Services Multi Site team for a retail client in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Candidate should be able to work from the client’s campus at least three days per week. The APM is part of the project team, assisting with the development of scope & schedule for project work and executing minor project management duties.
Responsibilities
• Manage small to medium projects under limited direction.
• Apply advanced planning and scheduling techniques
• Present project status to the project team
• Develop bid templates
• Facilitate plan development
• Develop and document basic project management processes and procedures
• Provide resource (budget) requirement planning
• Identify issues and recommend alternate solutions
• Ensure quality and timeliness of project deliverables
• May conduct and will document all weekly meetings.
• Assist in developing scope and schedule for assigned projects.
• Coordinate project tasks and activities of sub-contractors
• Project planning, project tracking, scope management, change control management, risk management, and quality assurance of the project team
• Ensure projects are completed according to time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to overall standards and operations objectives and user requirements
• Resolve project conflicts with affected management
• Analyze and estimate costs; prepare cost summaries for projects, including equipment, labor, materials, site preparation, sub-contractor costs and other related costs as needed.
• Facilitate communication between store operations, architects, engineering, developers, owners, and external contractors; clarifying expectations for information and service delivery
• Review and provide input for development of project plans.
• Manage construction plan(s) and maintain current project status records.
• Report, track, and trouble-shoot exceptions and escalate, track and resolve conflicts regarding resource commitment and delivery of results
• Prepare/update project status reports, process invoices, update tracking reports, and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
• Coordinate and track all Vendor RFP’s. Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation.
• Coordinate activities of sub-contractors and relocation of technical functions.
• Visit project site at appropriate intervals and confirm progress is consistent with the project schedule and work is in general conformance with contract documents.
• Prepare/update project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices, update tracking reports and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
• Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of all PDS technology as required for assigned projects.
Requirements
• B.S. or B.A. Degree, or relevant experience
• Minimum 2 years of Project Management and/or business experience
• Project Management experience in building/development/construction industry preferred
• Skilled in defining project scope and requirements
• Excellent communication and time management skills to be able to manage fast-paced and constantly-changing work environment
• Familiarity with architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts, a plus.
• Ability to regularly communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goals
• Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed
• Highly organized with strong analytical skills
• Ability to successfully communicate with architects, contractors, client’s representatives, and team members.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Project software
