The Field Service Management Organization within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management focuses on the strategy and business management for our 7,000+ Field Services employees located in our nationwide branches. These employees play a critical role in delivering first class service to Morgan Stanley’s Financial Advisors and clients. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Field Real Estate Officer is a New York-based role in the Wealth Management Division. The successful candidate will work with the both the Corporate Services team as well as with the local management teams to support the department with the management of their Real Estate operations, resources and financial decisions. The key responsibilities include:
Real Estate Management & Financial Analysis:
• Footprint planning and directional analysis
• Financial oversight of capital plan
• Support budget/forecast data collection & variance analysis
• Lease, Consolidation, Expansion, Downsize, Refurbishment Approvals
• Analyses of costs incurred (headcount, movement, construction)
• Resourcing administration, monthly tracking, reporting, and forecasting
Reporting / Communication:
• Co-ordination of monthly service and operating reports
• Support management communication of departmental strategy
• Support frequent senior managers meeting
Day to Day Operation:
• Engage with local management on space needs and footprint planning
• Engage with Corporate Services on space availability, options and implementation.
• Travel when necessary to assess footprint and direction for approvals.
• Assisting in Reporting
• Approval authority for projects in conjunction with firm leadership.
Special Projects:
• Partnering with Corporate Real Estate Officer on combined firm initiatives.
• Partnering with Corporate Services on implementation or pilots of new services and vendors.
• Ability to assume and run non-real estate projects.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 10+ years of similar experience.
• Strong communication / interpersonal skills to be able to interact at all levels & be effective as part of a broader community of business and operational management
• Effective organizational & prioritization skills - project management background useful
• Aptitude for senior level reporting and analysis.
• Methodical / organized approach to financial analysis and processes
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Excellent writing and public speaking skills
• Team leadership
• Finance or Accounting knowledge
• Familiarity with Wealth Management environment
