Description
As a Claims Examiner, you will provide exceptional customer service by managing a case load of approximately 900 Long Term Disability claims and concurrent Waiver of Premium claims in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
The Claims Examiner extracts information for processing in addition to collecting and processing death and life disability waiver claims. They are expected to verify, correct and complete claims information by telephone, letter or personal contact. They will conduct investigations and gather supporting documentation on claims, calculating benefits payable and approving to a specified amount or denying claims in accordance with established procedures. They provide customer service by answering incoming calls on the dedicated 800 call center line and serving as a Tier One responder.
Responsibilities:
• Delivers authentic, dependable, accurate, trustworthy, and timely service for all customers
• Documents and communicates clearly and accurately with all customers
• Conducts thorough, fair, and accurate claim reviews and decisions
• Acts with integrity, objectivity, and urgency in the evaluation of claims
• Ensures accurate and timely financial management of claims including claim payments and offset management
Qualifications
• Excellent customer service skills proven through internal and external customer interactions
• Ability to partner with various areas of the Group Insurance business
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational and time management skills
• Customer service or prior claims experience a plus
• Ability to empathize with claimants
• College degree preferred, but not required
