Responsibilities
KEY ELEMENTS OF YOUR POSITION
You will shape the future of actuarial automation strategy to ensure a competitive advantage for the company. The successful candidate will bring a passion for actuarial transformation, a track record of fostering strong partnerships and a style of influencing that inspires and facilitates results. Through the partnership between actuarial and IT teams, you will define and implement strategies that deliver enduring value. You’ll report to a 2nd Vice President in the Corporate Actuarial and Risk Management division, a smart and credible leader who will set you up for success.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as lead designer for business processes and automated solutions created by the Corporate Actuarial and Risk Management Automation team
• Participate in and facilitate testing and incubation processes for newly created automated solutions
• Develop and promote automation and analysis strategies for the actuarial community of practice
• In cooperation with actuarial and information technology teams, fashion a future state vision which meets technical and operational objectives
• Assist in the development of best practice guidelines and operational control policies
Qualifications
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years of experience in insurance actuarial OR several years of focused experience in the use of automation and analysis technology fused by aactuarial teams
• Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries
• Strong intellectual capacity and analytical skills. BA / BS degree is required
• Well-developed business acumen complemented with a strong understanding of actuarial mechanics
• Knowledge of the technology, tools, and practices that enable highly effective actuarial teams
• Direct programming experience in SAS, R, or other languages is required
• Ability to build effective partnerships across all areas of the organization and with colleagues at all levels, from senior leadership to front line employees
