Job Description
Responsible for verifying the quality of collateral pledged to the Bank to secure commercial loans. Performs collateral examinations focusing on accounts receivable and inventory for prospective and existing borrowers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs initial exams for prospective client evaluation, recurring scheduled field examinations for existing Asset Based Lending clients, and exams of clients of other divisions of the Bank, as assigned.
Meets with the Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers and Field Examination Manager before each assignment to define exam objectives, during exams as circumstances warrant to discuss issues, and after exams to thoroughly communicate examination findings and recommendations.
Communicates exam findings and recommendations in a written report to Field Examination Manager and Portfolio Manager, revealing and discussing significant issues, and recommending corrective measures for issues noted.
Conducts peer review on examinations performed by other departmental examiners. Tracks hours spent on each job to ensure proper billing to the client or internal cost center.
When an issue develops during on-site work, the Examiner must be capable of isolating the issue, potentially creating a workpaper specifically designed to best analyze the concern. Assist the Field Exam Manager in the training of a new Examiner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 4 years of experience performing field exams of Asset Based Lending clients.
• Either a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting OR comparable experience in the Accounting industry with strong knowledge of all aspects of accounting/bookwork and its intricacies.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of accounts receivable and inventory as collateral.
• The ability to make logical and well supported audit conclusions and recommendations regarding accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable and other pertinent field examination areas.
• The ability to design and implement appropriate field exam procedures when unusual collateral or reporting circumstances exist.
• Strong knowledge of Word and Excel, to include writing Excel formulas
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of data extraction tool Monarch Pro
• Completion of CFA Field Examiner and Inventory Evaluation seminar series
Travel required to visit client facilities.
