Description
The Long Term Care (LTC) actuarial team is seeking a motivated individual to support our pricing and experience analysis development specifically through tool development and analytics. In addition, the role will work closely with other LTC functions (e.g., actuarial Centers of Excellence, finance and operations) to support a more robust overall understanding of the business, including experience related to expectations, drivers of that experience, and expected future trends. The LTC line of business includes both individual and group products. In addition, this role will assist with monitoring LTC industry development and supporting Prudential’s participation in industry studies.
We seek a candidate who will not only increase the efficiency of actuarial processes and take ownership of several LTC development projects, but also take the initiative to meet the challenges of the new business requirements related to ongoing analytics around actual to expected monitoring in house.
The candidate will partner with Finance, Experience Analysis, Pricing and the newly established Centers of Excellence to create new data analytic reports, tools for monitoring experience and tools for filing. This candidate needs to have strong analytical and communication skills in order to evaluate, understand, and communicate drivers of emerging experience and issues to senior management.
The candidate will also be responsible for fulfilling ad-hoc requests and creating/testing spreadsheets. Furthermore, the candidate must have the attention to detail required to produce thorough documentation and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables. He or she should have a strong knowledge of Access/Excel and good analytical and mathematical skills, in addition to comfort in working with large data sets.
Location: Newark, NJ Gateway office; Dresher, PA office.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• ASA is preferred
• 4 or more years of actuarial experience required
• LTC product knowledge and experience is preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, and Visual Basic.
• High level of motivation, independent working and drive for results
• Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• High level of self-motivation and ownership of results
