Responsibilities
This role will primarily support the Equipment Finance Originations teams as an Analyst in developing efficient and effective solutions to meet the growing needs of the business. The individual will work closely with the Sales, Originations and Operations teams to enhance operational workflows, ensure smooth execution of complex transactions/relationships and play a leading role in certain strategic initiatives. The analyst will assist in monitoring and analysis business unit trends and make appropriate recommendations that will positively impact the unit.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of systems and existing processes through the life-cycle of deals.
1. New Business Initiatives (new products, market segments, complex one-off transactions, etc.) - work with Sales/Business Development, Credit, Asset Management, Legal and Finance teams to gain understanding of structure and deal parameters; utilizing knowledge and expertise of existing systems and processes work with all internal teams to ensure smooth integration, documentation of workflows as needed.
2. Workflow Analysis & Documentation - includes undertaking critical analysis of current processes; identifying areas for process improvements and automation; assist in identifying solutions resulting from sound analysis of business process and workflows (current state/future state); assist in the creation of project plans and implementation; creates, updates and managed various procedure and workflow documentation.
3. Risk & Controls- Ensure that all controls relating to Compliance Risk and Operational Risk are effective and operational; point of contact for certain aspects of internal/regulatory audits.
4. Reporting- Collect, analyze and summarize information, as needed from time to time, from various sources. Review exception reporting on transactions and ensure timely remediation. Streamline existing reports; provide requirements to Business Intelligence team to enhance; testing of reports.
5. Special Project- Leading participant for various strategic initiatives including IT enhancements and process improvement projects.
Qualifications
• Computer literate; Microsoft Office proficient
• Intermediate level skills in Excel and Access an asset
• Detail oriented with problem-solving skills
• Effectively organizes oral and written communications to address problems and clearly identifies actions for resolutions
• Able to perform lease/finance calculations needed to structure transactions appropriately
• Able to adjust to changing conditions and priorities and contribute in a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to maintains and/or builds relationships
• 3-5 years of business experience; Financial Services industry experience preferred
• College degree preferred
