Position Summary:
The consumer engagement marketing director is responsible for the satisfaction of current relationship and their marketing services as well as growing the business through ongoing sales support. Looking for a passionate and customer focused marketer and experience manager to be responsible for driving the strategic vision of the participant story as well as bringing the story to life to win and retain business.
Position Description:
• Manage a team of communication consultants, driving exceptional service to clients, aligning with key business leads and defining how we work with current clients servicing to satisfaction through communications and engagement
• Reporting to the AVP of Consumer, ability to report on revenue contribution to organizations key business goals and initiatives
• Responsible for thorough understanding of retirement plan offering, employee demographics, and communications goals
• Responsible for understanding trending in benefit marketplace and how it impacts benefit utilization. Also responsible for understanding company’s product line and be able to translate value to client and their employees.
Provide input in to the end-to-end consumer experience; knowledge in consumer behaviors, media preferences, demographics and psychographics. Partner with other marketing groups to incorporate behavioral finance and segmentation research and insights into the strategy
• Provide direction on RFP answers and pricing, assign and attend sales finals
• Standardize offering in the marketplace based on competitive insights and drive sales process and marketing story through sales process
• Coach and train team through relational skills, presenting, strategy creation and retention efforts
• Track and report results holistically as they relate to attaining business goals in the organization
• Manages a department budget
• Develop standard work and processes within marketing and cross organization including sales to implementation processes as well as ongoing service standards
Be a source of new ideas and inspiration; proactively coach team to best leverage insights and funnel them into actionable recommendations for clients
Knowledge and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, or related discipline. Advanced professional degree a plus.
• 10+ years relevant experience, preferably Retirement related marketing, strategy and account management positions.
• Strong communicator and presenter with proven ability to win new business through sales work (final presentations, storytelling and training of key team members)
• Demonstrated success at strategic communications activities, including use of personalization in all media; push and pull strategies
• Balance of creative and analytical approach to problem solving; ability to interpret data and research findings into strategy recommendations
• Excellent presentation and relationship management skills – strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated diplomacy in handling complex situations and/or audiences, ability to present plans and proposals in group and/or one-on-one settings.
• Demonstrated success in building relationship with executive management teams.
• Able to use consumer and other insights in the development of marketing strategy and plans.
• Capable of leading multi-disciplinary teams. Prior experience working in a cross-functional role in a large corporation is a plus.
• Comfort dealing with people across all levels of the organization
• Good understanding of marketing planning process and activities.
• The ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
• Fiscal responsibility; able to manage significant budgets.
• Influencing abilities – polished, presence, able to articulate, preparedness, able to think on one’s feet
• Strong work ethic and service mentality
