Description
Private Accounting Solutions (PAS) Associates serve as members of various client service teams. Associates are responsible for the daily accounting and monthly, quarterly or annual financial close process. Associates receive both formal and on-the-job training to hone and develop their technical and analytical skills. Associates responsibilities include:
• Accounting and general ledger functions, such as data entry, reconciling of accounts, as well as performing basic accounting research and written conclusions.
• Maintenance of work papers in accordance with enacted processes and guidelines
• Preparation of financial statements
• Communication with senior associates and managers to clarify accounting-related issues, procedures and policies
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Education and Experience:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree.
• Minimum GPA of 3.5
• 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
• Ability to work as a team player and promote a cooperative work atmosphere
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
• Initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact with and gain the respect of all levels of internal and client personnel
• Thorough understanding of US GAAP and Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting
• Efficient in problem solving and decision making
• Experience with accounting software is a plus
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
