Our Global Finance Group partners with other Capital Group departments to proactively provide relevant, timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, innovative solutions and other insightful information that impacts business decision-making while protecting company interests.
As a Senior Accountant analyst in the Corporate Accounting group based in Irvine, CA, you will provide technical direction, leadership, training and development for associates by reviewing work prepared by other associates, review and process general ledger transactions, and provide financial analyses for various Capital Group subsidiaries.
Specific responsibilities for this role include:
• Preparation, review and presentation of corporate financial results in accordance with GAAP
• Assisting with various accounting and financial reporting tasks, completing audit / regulatory requirements
• Researching complex accounting matters, analyzing/addressing period operating results compared to prior period and budget, streamlining and improving efficiency of reporting and processes
• Completing ad hoc analyses and interacting/partnering with associates at various levels across the organization, as well as work with external auditors
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred
• 5-7 years of experience in public and/or private accounting within a larger corporate environment (2-3 years in public Big Four preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and experience in researching complex accounting matters for proper treatment including but not limited to revenue recognition, investments, hardware and software capitalization
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead others while maintaining effective business relationships with associates throughout the organization
• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities for processes and reports
• Strong computer skills, including Excel and experience with an enterprise accounting system such as SAP
