Job Description
• Drive PennyMacs’ Thought-Leadership on engineering and architectural practices and standards
• Take the needs and challenges of a client and formulate the technical roadmap and technology solution that will support their business strategies and goals.
• Provide Technical leadership across the Engineering teams, to ensure delivery of exceptional technical solutions
• Formulate and articulate the technical and political implication of real world solutions
• Orchestrate the management of technology scope and risks
• Mentor on approach and execution of solutions, coach on technologies and establishing a team wide comprehension of solution capabilities and direction
• Ensure technical expectations of deliverables are met
• Be an inspiration of innovation to the client
• Become a trusted and valued partner of the business and team
• Exploit opportunities for networking and relationship building that arise out of delivery activities
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
• Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
Ideal Candidate will have the following:
• Experience working with IT leadership to create technical strategies
• Experience leading and inspiring software development teams
• Experience working directly with senior IT groups in an advisory role
• Expertise in multiple technologies (including Java, Ruby/Ror/Python, .Net, etc) across software engineering, security, data interchange, data management, etc
• Solid understanding of the practical application of agile development methods and leading software development teams in an Agile/Lean environment
• Maintain strong expertise and knowledge of current and emerging technologies and products
• Computer Science Degree or Technical equivalent, MS a plus
• Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
• Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
• Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
• Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
• Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
