The Position
As Senior Manager, Data Strategy, you will be responsible for providing guidance and oversight for data-related processes supporting SAI managed account products and functions. You will help drive and define strategy for data analysis, management, acquisition, and distribution. Working closely with SAI business as well as technology partners, you will participate on projects of various size and complexity, including product/platform development and enhancement. As a key member of the team, you will play a meaningful role in data-related business planning and prioritization.
Responsibilities
• Working with (and reporting to) the VP of SAI Data Strategy, support the diverse data needs of Senior Management, Research, and Investment Management across a range of projects and initiatives
• Perform hands on data analysis, queries, comparisons, data profiling
• Identify areas for process and quality improvement. Recommend optimal resources required for operational data needs based on complexity, cost and scalability.
• Participate in business planning and prioritization for data initiatives
• Project Management: Ensure that key data elements for platform, product, research, risk and investment management are available and of high quality. Work with business partners to help identify gaps and craft solutions.
• Partner with Product teams to identify data-related needs for new products and services or enhancements to existing ones.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external business partners
• Respond to ad hoc data requests with an eye to scale and automation where appropriate
• Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau is a plus
Qualifications
• 6+ years work experience
• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree preferred
• Broad-based Fidelity experience; experience with system development projects, business analysis, and data analysis
• Knowledge of asset allocation investment products, Performance, Attribution, Fixed Income and Risk related experience preferred
• Knowledge of database concepts and understanding of structures
• Experience in data analytics, data visualization, quantitative analysis, data fusion, data mining, operations research, and/or data manipulation preferred.
• Experience with instrument level performance, characteristics, and reference data
• Experience with one or more programming language preferred
• Experience with tools such as TOAD, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx
• Strong project management skills; experience managing complex projects with multiple partners
• Established relationship management and communications skills
• Customer-focused approach to engagement with business partners
