Overview
• Project Manager role at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation - NY Branch in Business Control Department.
• Planning Strategy and Information Services ("PSI") is a part of the BCDAD group and is responsible for planning and managing operations initiatives for various business units including Loan Servicing, Asset Based Financing, Securitization, Money Transfer, Deposit Operations, Treasury Operations and other Americas and Head Office locations.
• The Project Manager leads project management activities of PSI, BCDAD and other units within the bank. This role focuses on communicating with clients/stakeholders, developing and implementing strategy, managing project risks and issues, budget and resource management and project monitoring and reporting. Oversees the work of a team responsible for project deliverables. Serves as final point of contact for complex project related issues and is responsible for the resolution thereof. Reports to the Project Management Department Head and/or PSI Group Head.
Responsibilities
1. Facilitates the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements.
2. Works cross-functionally to solve issues and implement process changes, workflow improvements and remediate operational deficiencies.
3. Actively participates in planning sessions and meetings; interfaces regularly with senior management across multiple business units.
4. Participates in the planning, implementation, testing and documentation of Technology Recovery Plans to support continuity objectives as defined by business and service managers.
5. Participates in such other tasks, projects and/or initiatives that may be required
Qualifications
1. Expert understanding of project management methodology, SDLC/PLC processes in IT Financial services environments.
2. Expert knowledge of banking policies and market, statutory and compliance regulations.
3. 10+ years of specialized experience in Financial Services. 5+ years of Project Management experience.
4. BA / BS preferred or equivalent experience. PMI certification is advantageous.
5. Fluency in office productivity software. Knowledge of financial services systems and applications is a plus.
6. Ability to build a network of relationships across the bank with all levels of management, business and IT, lead and drive organization wide projects, gaining buy in and support of stakeholders for the efforts.
7. Strong sense of urgency, accountability and exceptional time management skills.
8. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
