Job Purpose (Job Summary):
Department Description: Global Portfolio Services (GPS) provides global end to end trade processing, portfolio administration/operation and data management support to Invesco. The group mission is to provide quality service with highly disciplined operations; deliver responsive portfolio support for investment process, new products and instruments; be responsive to changing economic, regulatory and risk environment; manage and deliver quality data. The Support Services function within the Global Portfolio Services provides proactive, 6x24 follow-the-sun first line support to business partners. The group ensures GPS data integrity and coordinates GPS response to new business as well as support requests. We provide proactive end-to-end support to our business partners throughout the day by ensuring all business as usual (BAU) requests are handled in a timely manner and in accordance with agreed SLA. We work with GPS functional teams to ensure items are resolved. Our data integrity measures include ensuring accuracy of data delivered by GPS and promptly communicating exceptions that impact our business partners. We liaise with business partners to capture new business requirements, coordinate GPS prioritization and responses; and work with GPS functional and strategic initiative groups on delivery of the business requirements. GPS Support Services operates under four functional areas: • First Line Support • Product Support • Data Integrity • Project & Process Integrity Role Description: The Data Management Analyst II is generally responsible for providing first line client support, product support as well as data, project & process integrity support. The incumbent primarily focuses on one of the four functional areas within GPS Support Services and is expected to spend no less than 70% of his/her time in the assigned focus area and up to 30% in the other three areas. In general, an Analyst II is expected to be self-motivated, work independently with minimal supervision, escalates issues when appropriate to provide Security Master and Portfolio Support to Invesco's internal business partners globally. The incumbent liaises and works jointly with team members in global locations to provide 6x24 support coverage; including participation in research and analysis of non-standard GPS related data concerns (e.g. security master, new instruments implementation, reconciliation, portfolio position / cash) and acting as first point of contact on data reconciliation issue resolution escalation; oversees data reconciliation resolution to completion. The Analyst II exercises business focused judgment while researching and resolving time critical and risk sensitive issues. The Analyst II will appropriately involve others for guidance as needed. Furthermore, the Analyst II acts as data steward to ensure data standards, quality and integrity are maintained. The Analyst II recommends and participates in automation as well as continuous improvement of daily operational processes. The incumbent also shares knowledge within the global team.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• General Responsibilities:
• Acts as the first point of contact for queries and requests from business partners. Proactively follows up; coordinates within GPS groups and ensures resolutions
• Takes initiative to raise issues where appropriate, suggest possible solutions and knows when to escalate
• Proactively participates in all stages of continuous improvement initiatives as well as new business requirements / projects.
• Stays current on industry trends and learns complex product. Share knowledge with and potentially train global colleagues.
• Maintains and updates documentation for global and regional operational procedures.
• First Line Support:
• Supports global operation by executing tasks outlined in the Service Catalogue accurately and in a timely manner that meets established SLA
• Provides data support for security masters, brokers and associated reference data. Validates and ensures data override requests conform to Invesco’s Data Standards.
• Takes ownership, with some guidance (if needed), on complex escalated position, cash, coupon payment and security master related reconciliation breaks requiring non-standard research and problem solving abilities.
• Responsible for cash management support and resolves all escalated position exceptions prior to market open and informs the investment teams.
• Maintains an overall understanding of the assigned investment strategy.
• Product Support:
• Participates in new instruments analysis and supports the associated data and process flow end-to-end testing
• Participates in Product Shelf changes.
• Continues to learn and enhance knowledge in complex instruments. Documents complex instrument support procedures, shares knowledge and trains the global team.
• Participates in new data requests and data standards change requests.
• Data Integrity:
• Liaises with other GPS functions to ensure integrity of portfolio related data via reconciliation resolution oversight, coordination and escalation globally.
• Acts as the escalation point for critical reconciliation breaks and is responsible for daily cash and claims management oversight.
• Contributes to the reports on the health of GPS reconciliation. Escalates and keeps GPS Support Services Leadership Team informed of any critical reconciliation breaks and data issues globally.
• Informs stakeholders on critical data integrity issues that impact them in a timely manner.
• Supports reconciliation and audit process for specific accounts as per SLAs defined.
• Project & Process Integrity:
• Contributes ideas to process integrity and effectiveness enhancement opportunities; participates in delivering the enhancements
• Participates in the prioritization, organization and monitoring of business requests for Support Services globally
• Engages in process improvements and project coordination globally within Support Services
• Contributes to the definition, delivery and the communication of efficiency and data quality measurements
• Responsible for operation reviews and controls
Qualifications
Work Experience / Knowledge:
• Minimum 3 years' financial services industry experience in a data analysis capacity
• Strong knowledge of investment products and global security markets is required
• Knowledge of market data services such as Bloomberg and Reuters is required
• Must have previous knowledge and work experience with data management applications, order management systems, portfolio administration applications, fund accounting applications, reconciliation tools, and data warehouse platforms.
• System examples include: CADIS, Charles River, Aladdin, Eagles STAR, Eagle PACE, PAS, TLM.
• Must have a solid understanding of the end-to-end investment services processes, including but not limited to trade entry, trade process, settlement,
• security master set up/maintenance, valuation, corporate action processing, fund accounting and reconciliation resolution.
• Must have a good understanding of the Invesco data flow and the impact of different characteristics of GPS owned data on downstream data consumers and business functions
• Demonstrated ability to process and assimilate data and information into meaningful management and reporting information.

Formal Education:
(minimum requirement to perform job duties)
• Require a University degree in Accounting, Finance, Math or business area of concentration (or an equivalent combination of education, training, experience that would provide the knowledge, skills and ability required)
• MBA an asset
License/Registration/Certification:(minimum requirement to perform job duties)
• Certify Financial Analyst (CFA) or Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA, CPA) an asset
Working Conditions:
• Rotating support coverage is required for international markets that are open during statutory holidays
• Participate in Business Recovery testing on an as-needed basis as defined by manager
• Overtime, off hours support and travel may be required
• Staggering shift work is required on a rotational basis and as defined by manager to provide global business coverage
• Current hours of business coverage for the North America Team (subject to change to fit global operations coverage needs):
• Mondays to Thursdays: Eastern Time 7:00a.m. – 8:00p.m.
• Fridays: Eastern Time 7:00a.m. – 6:00p.m.
• Sundays: Eastern Time 4:00p.m – 8:00p.m.
