Job Description
Visa is seeking an experienced director to be responsible for the overall governance of model risks at Visa. Specifically, the candidate will ensure that model risk management policies, standards and procedures meet the expectations of Visa’s management and our regulators. In addition, the candidate must perform ongoing monitoring of risk management activities within the 1st line to ensure compliance with Visa’s policies and standards. The candidate must have previous experience in management of model risks. This position reports to the Senior Director – Operational Risk Assessment Leader within Global Risk Management.
Responsibilities:
• Overall responsibility for Model Risk Management Governance
• Maintaining Model Risk Management Policy, Standards and Procedures
• Provides guidance and direction to model sponsors and owners
• Performs 2nd line of defense oversight of models utilized across the enterprise
• Partners with the business to assess model risk level; performs initial risk leveling
• Educates model owners on roles and responsibilities
• Validates self-assessments/self-certifications provided by model owners; provides feedback and reporting
• Maintains model inventory repository ensuring essential details of models are retained
• Performs ongoing monitoring to ensure models are risk-rated appropriately and receive appropriate treatment
• Liaises with internal counsel relative to issues identified
• Oversees and tracks completion of corrective actions plans resulting from model oversight activities
• Assists Internal Audit, regulators, and other related personnel in conducting assessments of models and model governance
• Stays abreast of regulation regarding models
• Serves as a subject matter expert; provides advisory assistance where appropriate
• Provides backup assessment support to RCSA and MRM as needed

Qualifications
• 5 - 7 years in managing model risks
• Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred
• Ability to prioritize deliverables and projects to meet timelines efficiently
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge in model risk regulatory guidance
• Ability to effectively communicate both formally and informally
• Strong presentation skills using PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate complex risk concepts to non-risk audiences
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Experience in presenting to regulators a plus
• Risk management experience in FI and FinTech desired
