Contract Specialist Sr.
This is a cross segment resource that provides Subject Matter Expertise for procurement actions and contract negotiations. This resource will focus on the creation of contract structure and content that includes the development and administration of a finalized agreement in accordance with direction provided by Huntington's legal department, established policies and procedures within regulatory guidelines. Activities will be performed in order to support the business segment and sourcing manager needs. The selected individual will:
• Support sourcing managers, who are negotiating vendor deals, to create legal terms/conditions that address business terms within a wide array of business relationships across all spend categories. This will include contract drafting with updates throughout the negotiation cycle. Shared resource for Sourcing Managers. Ideal starting point for a contract would be Huntington's Master Services Agreement.
• Review contracts and legal documents (renewals, extensions, amendments and change orders based on a defined risk approach) for inclusion of Huntington's desired contract terms in every agreement and inclusion of terms which appropriately address the risk appetite of Huntington.
• Stay abreast of the regulatory environment, security and other sourcing and procurement practice to include all services (e.g. technology, print, marketing, banking administrative support). Communicates updates and pending issues with Director Third Party Risk and Sourcing Operations, Legal Counsel, and Chief Sourcing Officer as appropriate
Basic Qualifications:
• A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in business and commercial law
Preferred Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial services environment and familiarity with regulations involving third party relationships
• A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
• Exceptional negotiation skills
• Effective project management skills
• Good problem solving capabilities and analytical reasoning
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with a demonstrated ability to build effective teams
• Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel.
• Supply chain experience preferred.
